Guy Appleton

Guy has more than 24 years of experience in the UK and international oil and gas sector, specialising in finance, strategy and business planning, commercial and business development, and performance management in corporate and operational environments.

He started his career with Ernst & Young’s energy services banking and capital markets division, before moving to HSBC where he project managed a range of corporate transactions, including IPOs and acquisitions for multiple clients in the energy sector.

He subsequently joined Paladin Resources where he held a number of senior positions, including head of investor relations and group financial controller. When Paladin was acquired by Talisman Energy in 2006, he progressed to the position of manager of international finance services with responsibility for Talisman’s operations in Australia, South East Asia, Peru, Colombia, Poland, Kurdistan and Algeria.

In 2010, Guy joined Talisman’s UK management team as vice president commercial, planning and marketing, before moving into the role of head of business development, commercial and strategy.

Guy is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh and has a degree in Economic History. He is also a Chartered Accountant.
