Kellas joins key CCS and hydrogen discussions at OEUK Summit

On 2 June 2026, we took part in the Offshore Energies UK (OEUK) North Sea CCS & Hydrogen Summit in Edinburgh, joining industry leaders, policymakers and project developers to discuss the future of carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) and hydrogen in the UK's energy transition.

The summit brought together organisations from across the energy sector to explore the opportunities, challenges and partnerships needed to deliver large-scale decarbonisation and strengthen the UK's energy security.

Our Strategy and Business Development Director, Gary Humber, participated in the ‘Foundational Projects in Hydrogen’ session, sharing an update on our H2NorthEast low carbon hydrogen project on Teesside. The session focused on projects with the potential to make a significant contribution to UK hydrogen production capacity and the development of the infrastructure required to support a growing hydrogen economy.

Gary said: "The Summit provided an excellent opportunity to discuss the current UK energy landscape and the vital role that hydrogen and carbon capture can play in accelerating decarbonisation. We were delighted to contribute to these important conversations alongside industry peers, and to share updates on our H2NorthEast project. It is anchored in Teesside and stands ready to support local the local economy, jobs and supply chains."
